Mood boards that actually help you decide

Everyone loves making a mood board. Far fewer people love the moment they realise their board is gorgeous and completely undecidable - forty images pulling in twelve directions.

Pick three anchors

A useful board has a small number of anchors: a primary material, a light quality and a single accent. Everything else should support those three. If an image does not reinforce an anchor, it is noise.

Test palettes against real geometry

A palette that sings on a board can fall flat on an actual wall. That is why EnVision lets you paint any wall face and tile any floor with procedural PBR materials - so you can audition your three anchors on the real room, in real light, before you commit.

Inspiration is cheap and wonderful. The value is in the edit - and the edit is much easier when you can see the shortlist in the space itself.
